Highlights: Sant’Agata de’ Goti – Land of Aglianico – Caserta Royal Palace





Day 1: Naples - Telesina Valley

Arrive in Naples and meet your tour leader.

Transfer to the Telesina Valley in the province of Benevento and on the way, stop for a walk in the pretty Medieval village of Sant’Agata de’ Goti. Overnight in the Telesina Valley. (D)


Day 2: Gastronomy and Wine Tasting in the Land of Aglianico

Enjoy this day discovering the gastronomy and excellent local wine. While heading towards the Land of Aglianico you will admire wide lands of vineyards. In a local wine farm an oenologist will explain the production process and give you details about the different and excellent types of local grapes. He then helps you in appreciating the tasting of the most precious wines of the area starting from Aglianico and Falanghina. Next, you just need to sit and enjoy a delicious 4 course lunch with the produce of the local area. The day continues to a ceramic workshop in the Telesina Valley where an artisan introduces you to the secrets of unique, local potteries. Return to the hotel. (B, L, D)


Day 3: Royal Palace of Caserta and the Silk of San Leucio – Telesina Valley

This morning you are headed to Caserta to visit the Royal Palace. In 18th Century the Bourbon King moved his residence from Naples into the backcountry in order to avoid to be attacked from the sea and the architect Vanvitelli built a palace of 1200 rooms. It is today the biggest in Europe and it competes with the Chateau in Versailles. A local guide leads you to the sumptuous royal apartments and highlighting the history of 18th Century. You will admire an impressive staircase, the Palatine Chapel and a Baroque decor in every room. Outdoors, you then enjoy a pleasant walk along the park, composed by numerous fountains that lead to a Grand Cascade and to an English garden. Next, have lunch in Casertavecchia, a lovely medieval village with 300 inhabitants atop a hill. Finally you will visit the Belvedere, the Bourbon King’s old hunting house. His son, Ferdinand IV, turned it into a manufacturing industry, become famous today for the production of its precious silk which is present in Buckingham Palace and in the White House too. Day 4: Telesina Valley - Naples

Breakfast, transfer to the airport of Naples (B)
